iMovie Tutorial

iMovie Tutorial Script

Hello and welcome to a short and basic iMovie tutorial.  When you start, click File, New Project.  You will see several project themes that you can choose from.  I prefer to use the “No Theme” for creative purposes.  Here is where the project is located and this is where the new events are.  I have already uploaded a video to save some time.  The Swap button moves your events and project locations.  It is really more of a personal preference.  I like to move them for easier access when moving photos to the project.  I will add several photos.  When you click on your movie a yellow box will appear.  The yellow box allows you to edit your clip.  You can scroll through and watch the edited version on the side.  When you are happy with your clip you can drag it down to your project.  On the right side of the screen are the options to import music, videos, text and transitions.  To add text, simple drag the tile to the project.  Notice the green bar.  Wherever the green bar appears is where the object will go.  Then we have transitions.  If you hold your mouse over the tile you will see a preview of the transition.  I am going to quickly add transitions to the project.  Notice the green bar.  We can click the Play button to watch our movie.  When we are happy with it we can go to File, and Finalize Project.  This will allow us to export our movie and upload it to any website we desire.  Thank you and I hope you enjoyed the tutorial.
